FAQ

  • How Long is a Session?

A standard session is 50 minutes, either in person or online.

We also have 30-minute online sessions available that are focused on helping you through things such as a specific assignment or project, something at uni or work or simply packing up for a trip.

  • How Quickly Will I See Results?

Short answer - Give it at least 4 sessions.

Coaching isn’t a quick fix. I work with you to develop skills and a new perspective each session. We focus on the small and the cumulative effect is very big, trust me. ADHDers often have an all-or-nothing or a very black and white approach to life. Some days you are ready to turn your entire life around, the others you forget you exist. This is something I help you work around too.

At Flowstate Coaching I focus on helping you experience life better week by week. A few weeks later, you will feel like a lot has been added to your toolkit, the way you navigate life and your ADHD will have changed a lot

  • How Often Should I Get Coaching?

I find that weekly works best in the beginning.

My biggest goal as your coach is for you to need me less and less every day. Perhaps not at all someday.

Going weekly initially will help us build and integrate skills into your daily lifestyle. Slowly, we can move to fortnight or monthly as you feel more supported.

  • What is Coaching VS Therapy?

As someone who has been engaged with a clinical psychologist for the last 5 years and places immense value on therapy. Let me tell you how Coaching and Therapy are different and where they bring value.

    Focus:

Therapy is very integrative of your past + present, we are talking trauma, emotions, life experiences, mental health.

ADHD Coaching is primarily future-focused : we set goals, build skills and tick boxes.

    Goal:

Therapy’s primary focus is to improve your mental health by going through and healing past traumas or building emotional regulation, providing you with a diagnosis and much much more in that realm.

ADHD Coaching is very much focused on improving your executive function, working with your ADHD brain and getting tasks done.

While I don't directly work on your mental health -  doing this work will have a massive positive impact on it.

“Therapy is where you find things that align with your true self. Coaching is where you learn how to get it done for yourself with an ADHD brain.”
